In true Southern Style, our home transforms to meet the occasion. Beginning in early November you can visit Santa's Southern Workshop and experience a magical visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. We want your visit to be one of your child's fondest memories of Christmas.
I grew up in Southwest Georgia on a Farm and was the oldest of seven siblings. Graduated from Mitchell County High School in Camilla Ga. and attended North Georgia Military College receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. After graduation I attended Infantry Officer branch school in Ft Benning (now Ft. Moore). After Ft Benning my first assignment was with a unit in the US Army Reserves. I remained in the Reserves for four years and retired as a Captain (Company Commander) of a Infantry Training Battalion in Raleigh, NC.
During my reserve duty my first civilian position was as a District Scout Executive-- Boy Scouts of America. (Atlanta Area Council.) During my tenure with the Scout organization I had the pleasure of being the Camp Director at Bert Adams Scout reservation for two summers where I directed a staff of 30 Scouts. Many of which were Eagle Scouts. Each week we managed 100's of young Scouts attending to work on their Merit Badges. (Canoeing, Swimming Archery etc.). This experience has served me well and has solidified for me the importance of being involved with young people.
After 3 years with the Scouts I began a career in the Healthcare Market with Becton Dickinson and Company where I spent 38 years in Sales, Sales and Distribution Management.
I retired in Jan 2020 and relocated from Dallas back to my hometown in Southwest Georgia. My wife, Rebecca ( Mrs. Claus) and I now operate Fetch'em Up Farms Kennel where we breed and train English Pointers and English Cockers.
We are very excited about portraying Santa and Mrs. Claus and established Santa's Southern Workshop as a photography studio style set-up. We are look forward to bringing joy and magical memories to children and families alike. Additionally we devote a large percentage of our time to charitable causes in our hometown and surrounding communities.
You may be asking what training have I taken to fulfill such an important role?
As a member of World Wide Santa Network. I've completed 9 Core Sessions on how to be the Best Santa Claus, and received Certificate of completion. Also attended many World Wide Santa Zoom calls being further educated on portraying Santa. Currently we have established a Santa's Southern Workshop Designed with Children in mind.
Not a native of Georgia but I got here as quickly as I could. Leaving behind my Southwestern roots and establishing a life here in the Deep South was an easy choice that involved making a long time dream become a reality. I've always believed in being sincere about hospitality. And living in Camilla, GA has proven to me that you can not truly be hospitable without a sincere love for your guests. Santa's Southern Workshop has further instilled that belief in my heart. Each child that has engaged with us has brought an abundance of joy that has been somewhat unexpected. We thought we would be spreading joy, which we did but each time it came full circle back to us. It has been said that it is impossible to perform and act of kindness without benefitting from it yourself, the 2024 Christmas Season has proven this to be true over and over again.
